Rice cereal for Will

Now that Will is over 4 months he can start trying food. We bought some rice cereal the other day, but haven't tried it yet. The current recommendation is for breastfed babies to wait until 6 months, but Dr. Lo said we could try for fun if we want.

Favorite books

We still go to the library once a week or so. It is fun to see what books the kids pick out. Right now Jack's fav book is one we have at home - the 'piggy book' as he calls it, "the three little pigs." Kate like books about Barbie, and we also have been reading some Fancy Nancy books.

Will's 4 month doc visit

Will had his 4-month well baby visit on Friday. He had a really bad night on Thursday night - up screaming most of the night - so we were glad we had an appointment on the schedule. Turns out he had a slight ear infection in his right ear, which explains grumpy Will. He is on Amoxicillin now, but doesn't really like taking it. He did get all of his shots too - 2 in each leg plus one oral vaccine. He weighed in at 16 lbs, 12 oz, so I was right on in my estimate of 16-17 pounds. We are going to get out his 9-12 month pj's this weekend as he is getting too big for his 6-9!

Kare's nre hair cut

Kate got a haircut on Friday and she looks super cute! It is to her chin, and it is so much easier to take care of. She loves it too, and it also helps that it looks alot like her friend Mia's hair. Pics soon!

Happy 4 months to Will

Will is 4-months old today! He is getting quite good at pushing up on his arms when on his belly, and he seems close to being able to roll back over to his back from his belly. He still has a cold (so far just mommy and Will sick, knock on wood!) but seems to be getting better faster than I did. Today is Kate's last day of school - we will take some pics!

Update 5/20/2008

This is Kate's last week of preschool.  She seems sad that she won't get to see Mrs. Engel anymore, but we are trying to get her excited about her summer activities, including ballet, swimming and gymnastics.  She doesn't quite understand the whole 'school's out for summer' thing :).  Here are some pictures from Field Day last Thursday. We started working on potty training Jack this week, and have been putting him in underwear the past two days.  So far it is hit or miss, but when we are at home, we are going to keep trying. Somehow I caught a cold this weekend, and now it seems like Will has it too.  I have a doc appointment today to see if there is anything I can do to help because I usually don't get sick.  Will is supposed to have his 4-month well baby visit on Friday, which we may need to postpone.

Pics from last week

Not much new here this week.  Some nice spring weather has had us outside a lot, which is great.  A few things are starting to come up in the garden, and I am sure we will see a lot more in the next week.  Here are some pics from last week , including Kate's Parent's Day at school.

Update 5/8/08

Kate had parent's day at school today, so the boys and I got to visit her room for the last hour of class. We had snack and then got to do centers, which is basically play time in the room. It is amazing how many different toys/games they can pack into each room, from dress up clothes to fake bugs! We took some pictures to post this weekend. Jack has not been enjoying gymnastics as much lately. Well, he actually likes the activities, but is having a hard time leaving mom. Oh, and I am now 'mommy' not the sweet 'momma' that I had always been since J-man starting saying that word. His two most used sentences this week were 'Sorry mommy' and 'no thank you, mommy.' He is quick to say he is sorry when he thinks he is going to get a time-out. Will is having a hard time sleeping lately. He can now roll over quite well from back to belly, so gets stuck. He will hang out for awhile on his belly, but will start squaking to get turned back over. S...

Update 5/5/2008

Here are some pictures from this weekend.   We found a used little tykes car on craigslist, and it was the best purchase ever.   Jack loves his 'drive-drive.'  His sentences are getting longer, and include no thank you, mommy, excuse me please, and sorry kate. Will is rolling a lot now, and can quickly get over when he wants. He has also started grabbing thing from the table!  We brought out his high chair the other weekend, and he likes being able to join us for meal times. Kate has a couple weeks left of school.   She is excited about summer classes like swim lessons and ballet.

No more mud-pit!

The mud-pit was fixed today!!  We now have three large flagstone pieces under the gate, a new drain tile system for the water, and brand new sod!  Right now it is all covered with orange snow fencing to keep Scout away, but we will take that off as soon as the sod roots.  We take some pictures this weekend.

Kate's Princess Party

Kate had a few friends over on Wednesday for a princess party.  Some of the boys wore costumes too!  A few pics at Picasa .
