Schools open this week!

Our county has finally reached the Red Tier in the CA system.

Miramonte will open on Tuesday (Kate and Jack), and OIS will open on Wednesday (Will).  Tom has already been back at school for a few weeks.

The schedules are dizzying, but one day at a time, right?

  • K and J will go on Tuesdays and Thursdays all day in-person (8-2).
  • Will heads to school in-person on Wednesday and Friday 8-1.
  • Tom goes in-person Tuesday-Friday afternoons 12-3.
My calendar is a mess of overlapping events :).  Luckily Tom can walk to and from school - usually, we walk to school together and he walks home with a friend from class.  Kate will drive Jack and they even have a great parking spot in the pool lot.  Will's school is a little harder, with a busy commute time in the morning, and an awkward 1pm pickup time just enough time after Tom's 12:10 start that I can't really accomplish anything except maybe a dog walk :).

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
