8th Grade Promotion!

Congratulations to Kate and the OIS class of 2018 as they celebrate Promotion to Miramonte High School.   We are so proud of Kate and her accomplishments during her three years at OIS.  Kate was one of three students to receive the Frank E. Isola award for outstanding positive attitude, sportsmanship and personal integrity.  There were about 10 awards presented to the over 300 students for different things like art, academics, and sportsmanship.  Congratulations, Kate!!!

The evening ended with a dance-themed for Stranger Things, so it was a middle school dance imitating a middle school dance :).

On Friday the 8th graders spent the whole day at Six Flags.  The weather was perfect for a day at the amusement park.

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
