Great racing day!

Kate and Jack both had great races last night at MLK Middle School in Berkeley.

The 6th grade boys ran 1 mile and Jack clocked in with his friend Andrew at 6:30!  That was a huge improvement from his mile at school just over 8.  I'm not sure what place the team ended up in, but they had quite a few runners in the top 30.

As expected, the 7-8 girls from OIS dominated the field.  Rival middle school Stanley was not at this race, so we still need to see how they look.  OIS girls placed 1, 2, 4, 7, and 10, and then had another 10 runners scoring for the team.  Kate was 7th at 6:55 for 1 1/4 miles - which would be about a 5:32 mile!

Go Bulldogs!!!

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
