A great soccer compliment

Kate practically bounded into the car yesterday when I picke her up from soccer.  This was pretty impressive, considering she had gone from school to cross country practice to soccer practice without a break.

Turns out that Coach Mo, who has been coaching K's team off and on since the summer, and who happens to be the owner/founder of Lamorinda Soccer Club, called Kate to the front of the group during the middle of practice.

Mo described Kate as 'an inspiring soccer player' and said watching her, and others like her, play, is the reason he is a coach.  WOW!

He also said that at least five coaches love her (didn't list the coaches, but only one of Kate's past coaches is at the club at the moment, so this has to come from other coaches that she is guest played with, or who have filled in as a coach on her team).

We are so proud of Kate's dedication and work ethic on the soccer field, and in everything else she does. Congratulations!

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
