Count the Prius

Since we live in CA, there are a lot of Prius cars (Prii?? What is the plural of Prius??) so we have started playing a new game called Count the Prius.  This is a great way to pass the time while driving, on above ground Bart, or walking through parking lots.  It is positively shocking how many of them are around.

Because the Prius are relatively silent (way more quiet than a Tesla) we have a corollary game called Death by Prius.    Clearly not something we want to play, but are aware of the possibility, especially when walking / running on the roads (lots of blind curves in Orinda) or again, walking in parking lots!  The kids are careful and we hope Prius drivers are careful too :).

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
