Arm update - closed reduction on Tuesday

Well, we went to see the orthopedic docs today expecting to come home with a fun new colored cast.  Instead, Kate has an appointment on Tuesday for a closed surgery (no actually incision) but she will be under general anesthesia as they try to bend both bones back into a more normal position.  The the purple and green striped cast for 6 weeks.

So instead of heading on the bus for the first day of school, K has a 6am outpatient appointment up the street.  She is out of PE and soccer for 6-12 weeks, and no violin for 6.  Not quite how we expected the fall to go, but she is taking it very well.  We toured the surgery center today, and that was good to see.  More updates next week!

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
