Shiny new eyes

Well, maybe they aren't anymore shiny before, but Paul basically has new eyes.  Two weeks ago he had LASIK, so for the first time in 30 odd years, he hasn't had to wear his glasses or contacts to see.  The recovery has been pretty quick, although he is still very careful with his eye - read Anjie gets to mow the lawn.  His eye drops are down to as needed from a high of every half hour, so that is more manageable too.  It's pretty cool, but I think I'll pass.  Jack tried to get me to watch a video of the procedure, which I think was a mistake.  I was screaming for him to pause it :). I'll stick with my glasses and contacts for now.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
