Maldives vacay day 1 - London to Dubai

We left for the Maldives on Monday morning! Tom, Paul and I are so looking forward to our week on the beach! Thank goodness Tom is finally feeling better.

Our 2pm flight was on an A380, the most beautiful airplane in the world. I even took a shower at 40,000 feet! Honestly the flights themselves felt like a vacation. And the lounge in Dubai is simply amazing! We arrived in Dubai just after midnight (9 pm GMT) and so all the very helpful staff greeted us with "good mining." The emirates slogan hello tomorrow is very accurate.

We had a 3am Dubai time flight, have just arrived in Male at 5am GMT, so I'll post Tuesday's adventure tomorrow. We have one more sea plane ride before we get to the resort.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
