Italy trip day 5 - Florence

Today we went to a small Florentine museum of a historical house (I will have to look up the name) and then spent quite a bit of time in the Ufezzi museum. Of course more gelato followed.

Jack isn't feeling well - perhaps light flu symptoms, and the rest of us have a bit if a cough. We are doing very little this afternoon. Tomorrow morning after breakfast we have about a 2 hour train ride to Milan.

We all rather like Florence. It is much smaller and quieter than Rome, and the architecture is stunning. And of course there is still plenty of pasta, pizza, and prosecco.

We couldn't take pictures in any of the museums today, so here are a few from breakfast and our room. Only Will can get his nose sugary while eating a donut :).

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
