Middle East trip Day 6 - Petra

We spent all morning exploring Petra. It is an amazing site, especially the Treasury as it is called. This is the building you think of when you think of Petra.

The kids took donkeys half way back and up to the Royal tombs.

The walk back was long. And a little dangerous as the fast 'limos' would race past. This are horse drawn carts, and they fly past, sometimes passing one another.

It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for site seeing. It was warm and I am sure we got too much sun on our faces.

After lunch we are resting and not doing too much. We are staying at the Movenpick so I think there will be ice cream in our futures :).

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
