Middle East trip day 5 - Historic Amman to Petra

Today we will tour Amman in the morning then make the 235 km drive to Petra. Stopping at Mt. Nebo. We will have a full day exploring Petra on Wednesday, day 6.

From today's journey:
Breakfast then start tour

Citadel of Amman. Caterpillars everywhere!

Realised that there is tourist police here too just more transparent. Our bus has GPS and the destination is logged with tourist police.

Stood on Mt. Nebo where Moses stood and later died. We could see Caanan and the Dead Sea. A little too cloudy to see Jereuselem.

Stopped at a mosaic store. Employs handicapped persons. Beautiful work.

Driving Now to Petra. Will stop for lunch on the way

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
