Egypt day 6

Today was a busy travel day with us checking out of our hotel in Aswan then driving the 3+ hour drive north to Luxor. We made two stops along the way at The temples at Edfu and Kom Ombo.

About half way into the drive we stopped and our driver took a few stalks of sugar cane off a rail car for us to eat. A man helped him, and it turned out the man was the owner.

We finally arrived at our hotel in Luxor after our driving asking directions from three different people on the street!

Tomorrow we will be exploring Luxor and then relaxing at the pool in the afternoon.

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
