Last Town Hall of the year

The Town Hall meeting at Southbank yesterday was really nice.  Since it is an International school, there is always something new to learn.  Yeterday the Scandanavian families put on a short play about St. Lucy, I believe the patron St. of light (I need to review this link).  Very useful this time of year when the sun is barely out!

There was also a quartet of middle school boys - which is really cool for the younger kids to see what happens if you keep practicing!  They were quite good, and one was the older brother of a friend of Jack.  And he played cello :).

Again, since it is an International school, sadly there are always families joining and leaving.  At the end of this term 10 students are leaving.  Each one was recognized in the meeting, and the PTA donated a goat to the schools' fav charity, Kids for Kids.   Each pizza Friday helps this charity as well, and the founder has spoken at the school this year.  It is pretty neat to here our kids talk about how they can help people with goats :).

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
