Egypt day 3

We started our day at the Egyptian museum. The number of artifacts is simply amazing. We saw all of King Tuts collection.

After the museum we went to the citadel mosque. We sat in the prayer area and learned about Islam.

Then we went to the market and practiced our negotiation skills. We all purchased small mementos.

There are wild cats all over Cairo! We love looking out for them.

After the market we had a tradition Middle Eastern lunch on a boat on the Nile.

Then we went back to the pyramids and another camel ride. Yesterday the pyramids were covered in fog (very mysterious) and today was bright sunshine and blue sky.

Back at the hotel we went for a swim! I am sure the pool employees were all laughing at us for swimming. It is warm for us here. Maybe around 70 and sunny.

Tomorrow we have a short flight to Aswan were we will be until New Years.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
