Egypt day 1

Thursday, December 27, 2012
We are off to Egypt today. We are taking a Car to heathrow instead of the train. Will be easier. We arrived about two hours before the flight and check in and security didn't take long. The kids got to play at the kid area :).

For once in a long time the flight wasn't delayed! Remarkably, Tom slept the majority of the 4 + hour flight. He was just awake at take off and landing. The kids entertained themselves and I watched two movies. Paul read and slept.

Our tour operated handled getting our visas and getting us through customs. We just sat and waited. Rather nice. Only hang up was getting the stroller a little late.

Cairo is bustling! 20 million people! We drove through town to our hotel in Giza at 10pm and there were cars and people everywhere!

Our hotel is beautiful and there were cupcakes and shirts here for the kids. Tomorrow we have a very early start to the day with our pyramid tour starting at 8am.

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
