I have absolutely no idea what motivates British drivers to do this, but honestly, people will make a U turn ANYWHERE around here. Not just into a drive way or at a road, but in the middle of a road, in an intersection, up onto the sidewalk... the list goes on and on. I am constantly amazed at what the drivers decide to do. I am not sure if it is gutsy moves to change direction, or simply poor driving.
