Costco Trip

We took a car up to Costco yesterday as we had heard good things about the store.  The drive took about 30 minutes, and we got to see some pretty neighborhoods along the way.

Unfortunately we had been putting our Naperville Costco up on a pedestal, and the NW London one just wasn't the same.  The layout was the same, except that you go anti-clockwise of course.  And since our driver was waiting, we didn't have a chance to linger over the toys or even stand in the crazy long line to get a hot dog.  Perhaps we should have not done a wait and return car, although it seemed like a good idea upon booking.

We were hoping for American brands and there were some.  We got 3 regular Am. sized Skippy jars, not the tiny UK ones we go through in a matter of days.  And we bought some costco rubbish bags that we have used for the past 6 years.  But, we didn't see any grape jam, chocolate syrup, Aunt Jemimah syrup, or the few other things we were hoping to find in large quantities.  So, given the price and time of taking a car, we probably won't be going back any time soon.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
