First week of school

We survived the first week of school at Southbank!  On the second day we found the hidden scooter parking which is wonderful. Now I don't have to lug three scooters back and forth on the stroller.  Add in the backpacks and I am sure I am a sight!

Everyone seems to really enjoy school.  They love wearing their PE kit, as it says Southbank.  I might invest in a few more shirts!

All three have about 15 kids in their classes.  Most speak English, but some students benefit from the translator programs the teachers have on their Macs.

Will has school all day just like Kate and Jack.  He is tired when he gets home, but always is eager to go, and looks happy when I pick him up.

Music lessons start the end of next week, so that will add another layer to our busy morning routine.  We are still learning how to get everything done in the mornings... breakfast, lunch, walking to school, and of course understanding school itself.  We have curriculum night next week, so that will be good to hear more about what they do all day.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
