We had a great time in Brussels this past weekend. Here are the pictures from our trip.
We started off a lot more calmly at the train station. No sprinting this time, but we did learn that you can't bring coffee through security. But they don't have a problem with water or other food.
First you wait in line to check in, and then security is similar to an airplane - xray for luggage and people. And of course then there is the passport control/ immigration lines.
We were in the family car on the way to Belgium, so we weren't too concerned about the kids being loud.
We had spent too little time in Paris, so scheduled Brussels for 3 days. Brussels isn't a huge city, so we had lots of time to grab snacks and hang out. Milkshakes are popular, as of course are chocolates, waffles, and beer :).
We hit some fun places like the Scientastic Museum, Natural History, and of course saw the famous statue Manneken Pis. We saw him twice actually, as we spent a lot of time walking through the shops. Once he was dressed up, once just plain. The most interesting part was being able to see the Flower Carpet at the Royal Palace.
We stayed near the EU buildings, so that was interesting. But they weren't in session, so the area of town was deserted. But the buildings are all new and beautiful.
We had a great time in Brussels. We didn't make it up to Brugge, so will have to go back to Belgium another trip.
