So You Think You Can Dance The Wavus Way? (Thursday, 7/12)

Today was another beautiful day at Wavus. Campers were in the mood to dance and express themselves whenever they were given the opportunity. The sunny day put everyone in a good mood for camp life!  The afternoon activities included many options of ways to use expression.  Some included interpretive dance, belly dancing, kayak dancing, synchronized swimming, water coloring and finishing up last minute traditional camp activities for the JW session campers! The evening activity of, “So You Think You Can Dance,” was hosted by Wavus’s own Katy Perry. Each cabin put on their own dance routines to some of their favorite popular songs. It was awesome to see the campers’ creativity and watching them working together in their cabin groups! We ended the night with the traditional crazy Wavus dance party.

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
