So much like home... shopping at Westfield Mall!

Paul took the older kids to see diving today at the Aquatics Center in Olympic Park.  I am waiting to hear all about it, as they are on the way home.  I'll post pics later.

But conveniently located at Olympic Park is the hugest mall ever!  Totally bigger than Woodfield or any of the big malls in IL.  And funny thing is that it is a Westfield Mall!  But it is super easy to get to on the Overground (stop 1/2 mile of course at Hampstead Heath).  And we simply take it to the end of the line to Stratford.  The mall was very crowded with all the Olympic traffic.  Since T and I didn't have event tickets, we couldn't actually get into Olympic park.  But the security was crazy... police officers everywhere in the mall, many carrying *serious* machine guns.

So Tom and I window shopped at tons of fun stores, got Pinkberry yogurt, coffee, a Krispy Kreme... all in all it was a very fun outing.  We will be sure to go back in Sept. when the Olympic crowds have dwindled.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
