Running in the Heath

We take the kids to the Heath a lot.  It is about 750 acres of green space that starts just 1/2 mile from the house.   There are a couple of playgrounds, some swimming ponds, and lots of paths.   It is off leash for dogs, and Scout has been doing awesome!  Yesterday T and I took him for a run.  The mountain buggy is fantastic in the heath, and having S off-leash is so, so easy.  He has been doing very well meeting new dogs and playing.  He seems to love it as much as the rest of us do.   He did sneak up on some little dachshunds, but didn't try too hard to eat them.  He was on-leash to pass them :).

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
