Kate is at camp

We had a long day yesterday taking Kate to camp.  We left the cottage around 9:00 and our first stop was LL Bean in Freeport.  I got yet another boat & tote bag because I use them all the time.  This one is pink :).

After lunch at the cafe in the store we had another hour on winding, twisting roads to camp.  All three boys fell asleep so it was quiet!

Once we got to camp we helped K unpack her things and had lunch.  Tom spent most of the time trying to win the love of Ellie the yellow lab who was busy looking for rib and chicken crumbs. One of Kate's cabin counselors lived in England when she was little, so that is cool.  There are three counselors for each cabin, K's is called Responsibility.

When we left Kate was busy playing games with her cabin mates and learning names.  She was quiet, but didn't look sad, maybe just a little nervous.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
