UK Brownies

It turns out that the Brownie troop we are looking into is actually a UK Brownie troop.  So it is a part of Girl Guiding, instead of Girl Scouts.  But the principals seem nearly identical. I have emailed with the Troop Leader, and they will start back up when school starts.

The troop meets every week, and for longer time - 1 1/2 hours.  K's troop here only meets every other week for about an hour.  So this will give Kate a good opportunity to meet new friends, learn new perspectives, and still work on volunteer and giving back.

The really cool thing, is that if we ever get our lease signed, our new apartment is literally right next door to where K's troop will meet.

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
