The long, long house search

For some reason I thought that Paul would have a house all picked out last Friday, his first day of looking at properties.  Hah!  He ended up doing second showings on Tuesday, and seeing a few new places.  Wow, was that a hard weekend for Anjie sitting here at home not able to look at real estate!

We made a choice and put a rental offer on the one we call Flask.  It was instantly rejected, blah, blah too many kids and pets, blah, blah.

So, now we are in negotiations with the landlord for a house on Lyndhurst.  Paul has seen it twice.  It is a nice, 5 bedroom townhouse in Hampstead about 1/2 mile from school.  We hope to hear back tomorrow... not sure what our third choice will be if this one doesn't work out.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
