Pregnancy Journal 6/28/2010 - Birthday??

Well, it looks like 6/28 will be a birthday! My water broke at 1:50am, and we will be going to the hospital about 4. Trying not to wake everyone up too early. I hadn't had any contractions yet this evening when sleeping, and I had been waiting for them. Usually have them most of the night. So, when I felt one, it work me up, and then I heard 'pop, pop, pop." My water broke with K too, right at about the same time. I am 38 weeks 1 day today!

Soccer pictures

Here are some pictures from Jack and Will's new soccer classes. It took Jack one week to watch, and now he loves it. Will of course jumped right in. Aren't the uniforms sweet!?

Tooth #7

Kate lost tooth # 7 this morning. It had only been wiggly for about a week! It is her top right lateral incisor. Not sure how she is going to eat now, she had been using that tooth a lot, since she is still missing her two top central incisors :).

Baby Shower!

My friends threw a baby shower for me a couple of weeks ago. It was great to see some friends I hadn't seen since school got out. The kids all had fun playing too. Here are some pics.

Pregnancy Journal Entry 6/22/2010

Tuesday, June 22, 2010. 37 + weeks! Woo-hoo, full term! 37 weeks is considered full term, so really, I'd be happy to have this baby any day now :). Kate was born at 38, and J was 37 + 2 days (ok, that wasn't his choice). Will on the other hand waited until the day before his due date. The weather is really giving me a hard time. I am not usually an air conditioner person, but I am really enjoying it now. Honestly, if I wanted 85-90 and super humid with thunderstorms every day, I would move to Florida!! No signs of the weather changing anytime soon, so you are most likely to find me inside :). Had an appointment with Dr. K yesterday. Officially hit the 30 lb point yesterday with the weight gain. I usually gain about the same with each pregnancy, and this one is consistent. Have I mentioned how pointless I think these weekly appointments are?? We waited 1 hour to spend literally 5 minutes with the doc who then told me nothing new. Confirmed the times before going to th...

New bikes

Everyone has new bikes! Mia gave Kate her super cool Groovy Girl bike, so now Kate can go super fast on her new bike. Jack just got a bigger 16" bike, and he is doing fantastic getting used to the bigger frame. We are hoping to take off the training wheels this summer. Will is now using J's old 12" bike, and he loves it. Still not the best at paying attention to where he is going, but he can peddle :). Will try to take some pictures today.

Pregnancy Journal Entry 6/17/2010

Thursday, June 17, 2010. 36 1/2 weeks. Well, I scheduled a c-section today, just to get it on the books. It is scheduled for Tuesday, July 20 at 9am. I will be 41 weeks, 2 days. So hopefully I won't even get close to going that far! But I was able to schedule it with my favorite two doctors, so I am glad it is on the schedule. They are fine with deleting it if I have the baby sooner!

Swim lessons - session 1

Kate and Jack are signed up for swim lessons this session, and are enjoying class. Jack is in white, and Kate in advanced red. Most of the class Jack is literally jumping up and down in the water. He loves to play around, but also is learning too. Kate loves backstroke, but still isn't thrilled to put her head under and face in the water, which is keeping her front crawl from getting to where it needs to be to move to the next level. But she sees her friends swimming under water, and I think it will click pretty soon.

Jack's 4 year old checkup

Kate and Jack both had checkups this week, but Jack's came with 3 shots. The poor guy got wiped out from them - fell asleep on the way home, then could barely walk. It was quite funny to watch him limp around. He was still feeling a little under the weather on Tuesday am, had a headache and his legs were still bothering him. We had to run out to Walgreens and get some generic tylenol, as we did have any in the house from the recall. He is 100% now.

Pregnancy Journal Entry 6/15/2010

Tuesday, June 15, 2010. 36 weeks +2 days. I had an appointment yesterday and it was good. Measuring over 35 weeks, and heart sounded good. Still pretty high, in the 130s and 140s, depending on the day. Dilated 1 cm, which is less than useful information. Talked to Dr. W about when to go to the hospital. He said if I stay at 1 cm, than I can wait until contractions are 5 minutes apart. If I dilate more, should go around 7-8 apart. They want to make sure I am really in labor before I take up a hospital bed! I really do want to labor at home as much as possible, I am just a bit nervous about this being a vbac. That whole rupture thing keeps me on edge :). Baby's head is very low, and he has dropped a bit this week, making it a little easier to breath. I was right about the way he is laying, it is little feet that stick out on my right side under my ribs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pregnancy Journal Entry 6/8/2010

Tuesday, June 8, 2010, 35 + weeks. Getting closer every day! My belly is quite big, and the little one doesn't have much room left. My doc yesterday was wondering how I can even breathe, with baby parts basically in my lungs. If you call the house and I have to walk across the room to get to the phone, you will hear that it isn't very easy :). Had a bunch of contractions on Sunday night, but I lost track of counting them and then they stopped. Doc said it is probably because we had a really busy weekend (K's showcase, a big party, etc.). Planning to get out some baby things this week or next - clothes, pack-n-plays, to get things set up. I know I could have 5-6 weeks left (YIKES) but hoping not.

New gymnastics club this summer

Kate is starting gymnastics at a new club this summer. She will be in the Hot Shots class at Premier in Oswego. The facility is pretty new, clean, has tons of windows, and is closer to our house. The only problem is crossing the train tracks which have a lot more traffic now. We will still be able to carpool with a friend, so Kate will be going 2x a week, but we only have to drive once. K had a private lesson with her new coach, Reg, yesterday, and K loved her. She should have her back handspring down by the end of summer!
