Jack and his weapons

Jack is very into all kinds of weapons, and rarely leaves the house without some kind of "sword"(often a straw from a milk container) tucked into his pocket. He just discovered the GI Joe characters at the store and, in his words, is "very excited about my GI Joes." He doesn't have any yet, but can't wait to get one - they carry guns and swords!

We have many ground rules about his weapons - no hitting people, animals, etc. No aiming at them either.

We have decided to encourage him in a positive way - he is now very excited about going to one of the military academies - they will give him a weapon and train him how to use it :). He keeps telling us he is 18 already and can go now, but we remind him preschool is just starting.

First Day 4th Grade!

Bye Bye Birdie!

Tom was Ed Sullivan in the production this weekend of Bye Bye Birdie!  Kate donned her sock-hop costume from 5th grade to embrace the spirit of the show. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical,  Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and was influenced by Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army in 1957.    Congrats, Tom!!

100 days left

We have just over 100 days left in the UK.  The kids are super excited to get back to the States, and we are too.  We have had a great time here, but look forward to being 'home'. This is the last week of term, and only term 3 left!  The last term supposedly goes fast, as the weather improves, there are Suzuki concerts, the talent show, and lots of field trips. We have some travel still lined up, plus some visitors to join us - looking forward to seeing you, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Aaron!  Stayed tuned for pictures of our last few adventures. We are starting to get the ball rolling on movers and pet shippers and all that fun stuff.  And we have to have the whole flat cleaned once our stuff is out. One step at a time!
