Latest things

Grammy G was here last week, and we had a great time visiting with her. We are on our own this week, but doing ok so far! We have a new bedtime routine of reading our books downstairs... that way if K & J haven't settled down yet, they can still run around :).

This weekend we are excited to have Mamie, Grandpa, Auntie Sarah, Uncle James and Uncle Shawn all come out to visit. The kids are thrilled and can't wait.

Kate - - she is super excited about her Valentine's party at school tomorrow. We are going to get her v-day cards all ready today. Kate had a little mishap at school yesterday. Turns out that she was wearing the superman cape and another friend wanted it. She told him she wasn't done yet, (as Mrs. Engel tells them to say) but the friend didn't like that answer and kicked her in the face. Still not sure exactly how it went down, but I had to sign an incident report! She seems fine, had ice on her face when I got to school. She said she didn't cry, but the friend did! Tough girl. She had a little red mark when she went to sleep, we will see what it looks like when she gets up.

Jack - - He is 22 months old today. Still working on the potty training. We got a couple new books, and that is helping. He loves to read about the big boys using the potty. He will sometimes just go to the potty without telling us, and we will find him in the bathroom! Jack is very strong, and weighs almost as much as Kate - which is great until he is wrestling with her and she can't get away. He is definitely in the terrible twos and testing every boundary. We are really working on him not hitting (Kate, Scout, mommy) or pulling hair. He understands time-outs, and knows he doesn't like them! Jack will start gymnastics in March! His class will be at the same time as Kate's, with a different instructor, but for 45 minutes instead of an hour. Hopefully that will be a good way to burn some energy!

Will - - wow, Will is 3 weeks old!! He is really plumping up and has a double chin or three and meat on his skinny little legs. He is sleeping a little better and is awake more during the day. He is a sweet baby who loves to cuddle and be held :).

Pictures - - New ones at Picasa.

SNOW - -honestly, I don't think I have ever seen so much snow. Can't wait until spring!!!!

First Day 4th Grade!

Orinda Country Cotillion

The Orinda Country  Cotillion  is a forty year community tradition sponsoring a series of seven evening dance classes and welcomes all seventh graders in Orinda.  The boys are girls are both broken into two sections, so every other dance is with the opposite boy group. Two of the dances are themed (a sock hop and country -western) and the rest are semi-formal.  Last night was the first dance in the seven dance series.  Kate and her friend Zoe had a great time.  They learned the fox trot and a line dance.  Seemed like fun!
