Jack's third trip to the emergency room

This time our emergency room visit ended in 3 stitches to Jack's forehead. After dinner last night he was trying to jump/slide down from the chair to the fireplace while holding a trick or treat pumpkin, and unfortunately lost his balance and landed head first into the corner of the fireplace. Thank God he wasn't hurt any more than his little cut.

Pumpkin Search

We went looking for pumpkins this weekend at our local pumpkin farm. Kate and Jack both really enjoyed picking them out. We skipped the rides and animals this time - it was just too hot to seem like fall. Perhaps next weekend we will find an orchard to explore. Pics at Picasa.

Disney trip was great

We had an excellent time at Disney World last week. Kate still says she is sad to be home, and the she misses Mamie, Grandpa, Auntie Sarah and Uncle James. We explored Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and the Disney Marketplace, and took about every means of transportation possible, buses, trains, boats! Kate said her favorite ride was the carousel at Magic Kingdom, and she still talks about meeting the princesses at breakfast, especially the part when Sleeping Beauty gave her a hug. We have tons of pictures to sort through, but hope to have some up at Picasa this weekend.

Happy 18 months to Jack

Jack is now 1 1/2 years old! And Kate is 3 1/2, she will be happy to tell you a hundred times. They are both doing well, but having a hard time being back from vacation. Hopefully we will get back into the swing of regular life soon.

New perennial garden

Kate and I planted hundreds of bulbs this weekend, despite the record breaking heat! We planted lots of groupings of tulips out front. Our new flower garden in the back is going to be magnificent next year. We are looking forward to spring! In the new bed we planted: Tulips Spanish blubells daffodils oriental Lily - stargazer blue grape hyacinths azure Allium giant crocus lavender mountain lily and an Iris.

Separation Anxiety

Jack has been having a hard time with separation anxiety lately. He was very unhappy when I tried to put him in the nursery at church this week for a MAPP meeting. Oh well, this too shall pass! As for new words, Jack has learned how to say 'hi', and seems to know more names of his friends. He is always babbling!

Disney Trip next week!

We are super excited to be going to Disney World next week! Mamie, Grandpa, Auntie Sarah and Uncle James are all going too. Thank you, Uncle James, for planning and organizing and of course getting us a place to stay! Kate and Paul have been watching Disney World videos online this past week, and Kate can't wait to see all of her favorite characters like the princesses and Little Einsteins!

World of Wheels

We went to a cool program with the Naperville Park district yesterday, the World of Wheels . We went with our friends Jake and Luke, and got to check out a firetruck, cement truck, limo and more! Pics at Picasa .
