Seeds are sprouting

Our seedlings are just getting started! So far Molly has only knocked over a few :). A few more pics here.

Here are a few pictures of Molly meow. She is super sweet and adjusting quickly.

Jack's star day

Here are a few pictures of Jack's star day at school. Paul got to spend the whole time in class!

Pregnancy Journal Entry 2/24/2010

(picture of baby R's hand & fingers) Wednesday, February 24, 2010. 20+ weeks. It's a Boy!! The ultrasound went very well on Monday. At first baby wasn't cooperating, but after drinking a bit more water, baby flipped around. All the measurements were consistent with 20 weeks. All the baby parts were there, including the boy parts I wasn't expecting! Heart looked great and was beating at 153 bpm. The kids were hoping for a girl but knew they couldn't pick. K is happy as she will get to move to the guest room and decorate. The boys will share the two rooms that have the jack & jill bathroom. Here are a few more pictures. Here is my pregnancy journal

Ava Lynn Kalkbrenner

Anjie's cousin Becky and her husband Chad welcomed their second daughter last week. Ava Lynn, who joins big sister Alexis, was born around 11am on 2/19. She was 5 lbs 3oz, and 17 inches long. Everyone is doing great!

Molly Meow

Olive has seemed quite lonely without G around, so we have been looking for kittens. We decided that brand new kittens might be too crazy for almost 13 year old Olive, so adopted Molly, who is 1. The kids LOVE having a kitty who likes to play and run around! So far Molly has been a great addition - isn't bothering Olive, tolerates Scout, and is very loving and playful.

Started some seeds!!

I started what I am hoping is a new tradition this week - started seeds indoors on Valentines Day! I also follow my schedules of planting onions and potatoes on Good Friday, and planting garden around May Day - give or take a week. We started tomatoes, green peppers, okra, daisies, zinnias, and blacked eyed susans! The laundry room is covered in pots :).

Pregnancy Journal Entry 2/17/2010

Wednesday, February 17, 2010. 19 1/2 ish weeks. Our ultrasound is coming right up. We found out with Kate and Jack, but not with Will. I am still undecided about finding out, so let's list some pros and cons... Pros 1. only half the names to consider 2. could plan out bedrooms 3. easy to pack for hospital 4. would know during labor Cons 1. no more guessing games 2. feel more rushed to get things done 3. what if tech is wrong!! 4. feel like cheating by knowing Here is my pregnancy journal.

Pregnancy Journal Entry 2/15/2010

Monday, February 15, 2010. 19 weeks 1 day. Lots and lots of little kicks now. The big ultrasound is 1 week from today and I can't wait! Still can't decide if we should find out now or wait... I do like the guessing game, but I also think it could be fun to know. Not much else is new. Still trying to work out. Actually I had a headache for 3 days this week, and I didn't work out because of it. But I just couldn't shake the headache. Then I did workout, and nearly instantly the headache was gone! Will try to be more consistent with my exercise! Here is my pregnancy journal.

Kitty Heaven

I am very sad to say Gallette is in kitty Heaven now. It turns out she had cancer, and this past week it was too much for her little body to compensate for. The kids, especially the boys, really miss her and ask about her a lot. Kate and Jack understand, and Will just keeps saying, 'my kitty sick' and 'my kitty not home.' We miss you, G.

Earthquake!

Early this morning an earthquake hit in Geneva, IL, about 20 miles from Naperville. We were all rattled awake at 4am! It only lasted about 10 seconds. It wasn't scary, we just didn't know what it was - not a semi truck, not thunder... what could it be.

Gallette is sick :(

All of a sudden Gallette has gotten quite ill. We took her to the vet yesterday and the blood tests should be back on Monday morning. She has dropped a lot of weight, and just in the last week started keeping to herself. She is normally the more outgoing of the two. We will see what the vet says tomorrow.

K starts piano lessons on Tuesday

We found a piano teacher that is already in the neighborhood on Tuesdays, so K was able to be added to her schedule. This last week with the piano K has been playing every day. She is learning her notes (on piano and on sheet music) and we are working on good form and posture. K is super excited!

New Piano

We have been slowly looking around for a piano, and finally found a great deal on a used Yamaha. It was delivered today, and the kids are super excited!

A few gymnastics pictures

At the bottom of this album there are a few pics from gymnastics classes for Jack and Will . The boys are both really enjoying class, and it is great to burn some energy since we aren't getting outside much.

Will's Birthday Pictures

Here are some pictures from Will's birthday last weekend. He is still talking about going to the train restaurant.

A picture of Toothless

We have taken to calling Kate 'Toothless' lately, and you can see why :). She has lost 6 teeth, and the top two front ones are taking awhile to come in.
