Will is a week old

Hard to believe, but Will is already over one week old. We have more pictures to post soon. Kate and Jack are thrilled with their brother. Will had a doctor appointment on Monday, and he has already surpassed his birth weight and is now 7 lbs 7 oz. Usually babies take 2 weeks to get to that point, but less than 1 week for Will. Everything else with Will looks great too.

Will's Birth Story

Happy Birthday to Baby Will On Monday, 1/21, Paul had the day off for Martin Luther King Day. We ran some errands took the kids to a bouncy party, and hung out with Mamie. Kate and jack both went to bed pretty early. Around 9:30 I started having contractions, but I had been having some many Braxton hicks that I didn't get too excited. Around 10:30 I told Paul about them, but still wasn't too sure. By 11, 11:30 I had decided they were real, but only 10-12 minutes apart. I decided to call my docs when they got a little closer. I couldn't sleep so got up and finished packing my bag, straightened up the house a bit, and rested with scout. Just after 12am on 1/22 I woke Paul up and asked him to take me to the hospital. The contractions were getting closer together, around 9 minutes, and Dr. Martin had said to go around 8-9 minutes. I barely had any contractions on the way to the hospital, and then they seemed to get further apart, it was cold and snowing, and the roads ha...

William Joseph Riley

Happy Birthday to baby Will! William Joseph Riley was born 1/22/2008 at 4:44am. He was 7lbs 3 oz and 20 inches long. Pictures at Picasa and birth story to follow. Everyone is doing great. Kate and Jack seem thrilled with their little brother.

Mamie is coming to visit!

We are so lucky, Mamie is driving out to see us today! With the baby here soon (I hope!) and Jack not feeling well, we are truly lucky that she is coming out so quickly to help us. Kate is super excited! We'll have to run out to the store today to get Mamie's favorite soda :). Thanks, Mamie!!!

Jack has a cold

What bad timing, Jack woke up with a cough and a runny nose. Hopefully it won't be too bad of a cold. Kate seems ok so far. I think we will just hang out today and see if he feels better.

Back at school

Kate is thrilled to be back in school after a 2-week break for the holidays. She was so happy to see Mrs. Engel again! Today Kate starts a dinosaur class with her friend Jake. It is though the park district and is just down the street. Hopefully she will share all her new knowledge with her dino-loving brother!

Napless Jack

Today was the third day in about a week that Jack has refused to take a nap. He just won't go to sleep, even if I take him for a ride in the car. At least he is going to bed early! Hopefully, he won't give up naps entirely just quite yet!
